...i love these pods. i used them in my francis francis & they are magnificent. podmerchant shipped them promptly and they were well packed for shipping. i had been using illy, which were very good but expensive. i like the flavor of lacaffe as well or better than illy (and considerably more than lavazza) and the crema is perfect every time. if you are shopping for pods to make authentic espresso easier and less expensively, try these. i was also impressed with podmerchants' website and newsletter - which i found by googling. in short, buy these - they will make you happy in the morning. This espresso is perhaps marketed with the average non espresso drinker in mind. I know that sounds paradoxical, but the blend used here is quite weak in taste, while good in aroma. If you enjoy "weak" espresso you may like this product. Overall the cream production is acceptable, but there's no getting around the fact that the final product does not live up to the espresso standard. Let alone the traditional Italian espresso. Lavazza and Illy offer a better alternative if you like your espresso to have some punch.

I've only tried a few different ESE pod brands, and this one is probably the worst. The flavor is pretty good -- on par with Lavazza, but not quite as good as Espressione. The big issue I have with these pods is that they don't always brew correctly in my Delonghi EC155. Most of the time everything works, but about 20% of the time, the water is pushed around the pod instead of through it. This results in an extremely weak cup of coffee that I just have to throw away. I think the problem is that the coffee is packed too loosely in the pod.
